Toyota Innova Hycross unveiled in Indonesia with hybrid tech, ADAS: Indian debut on November 25 – Times of India

Toyota has unveiled the brand-new Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid MPV in the Indonesian market with a new strong-hybrid powertrain. This is the same car that is set to be revealed in India as the Toyota Innova Hycross i.e. Innova hybrid later this week. We expect the Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid to be brought to India without any major changes made to its overall design.
That said, the new Innova Hybrid features a completely new SUV-inspired design on the outside. The new Innova is bigger in size as compared to the Innova Crysta, with a length of 4,755 mm and a width of 1,855 mm. The styling is more modern, with a larger new grille up front, flanked by sharper LED headlamps. The front bumper looks aggressive, and the MPV now sits on 18-inch wheels with a fresh design. The wraparound LED tail lights at the back are brand new as well.

The cabin of the new Innova is completely redesigned. It now gets a 10-inch freestanding infotainment system, a new steering wheel, a large panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and an electronic parking brake. The Kijang Innova Zenix also gets dual 10-inch screens for second row passengers, but we do not expect these to be carried over to the India-spec model.
The Innova hybrid is based on Toyota’s TNGA monocoque platform, which means that it drops the ladder-frame chassis that is seen on the Innova Crysta. This lends the Innova Hycross/Zenix a front-wheel drive configuration. Powering the hybrid Innova is a new 2.0-litre strong-hybrid petrol engine. No diesel engine will be on offer with the car. The specifications of the new engine will be revealed soon.
