SUV overturns due to pothole, kills 5 in Kheri | India News – Times of India


BAREILLY: Five persons, including two school teachers, were killed after the vehicle they were travelling in, an SUV being used as a shuttle taxi, lost control due to a pothole and turned turtle on the Shahjahanpur Palia state highway on Tuesday morning, reports Kanwardeep Singh.
According to police, the vehicle was overcrowded, having crammed around a dozen passengers on eight seats, and was travelling on an uneven road.
The survivors were taken to the community health centre in Palia town. Two of them are critical. Kheri district magistrate Mahendra Bahadur Singh met the survivors at the district hospital and directed the chief medical officer (CMO) to ensure the best possible treatment for them.
