Senior BJP leaders to fan out, intensify Gujarat campaigning | Gujarat Election News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Senior BJP functionaries, including Union ministers, chief ministers and deputy chief ministers, will fan out across Gujarat from Friday onwards, holding public meetings and roadshows across the state’s 89 assembly constituencies, where polling is scheduled in the first phase on December 1.
While PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah will intensify their campaign from November 19, several other senior BJP leaders have already reached the poll-bound state for a rigorous campaign for the saffron party.
Party president JP Nadda will address public meetings at Navsari, Ankaleswar and Rajkot on Thursday. Shah, who was camping in the state for several days and returned to Delhi for a couple of days, is also scheduled to return to the poll-bound state.
Modi will have an action-packed 72 hours in the state from Saturday onwards. He is scheduled to take part in political events from Surat to Saurashtra during his next spell of stay in the state. Modi will visit the Somnath Temple on November 20. He is chairman of the Somnath Temple Trust.
After visiting the temple, the PM is scheduled to address four rallies on that day in the Saurashtra region at Veraval, Dhorarji, Amreli and Botad. The party has fielded the PM in the region where BJP had performed poorly in 2017; the region traditionally has been with Congress. On November 21, Modi will address rallies ay Surendranagar, Bharuch and Navsari. As the top party brass is leading the campaign trail from the front, it reflects that the party poll managers are showing no semblance of complacency even as the opposition Congress has not shown the resistance it has posed in 2017 when BJP managed to win by a narrow margin.
Central ministers, state leaders, candidates for the assembly elections and others campaigners will be holding public meetings across the 89 constituencies.
Several Union ministers including Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Smriti Irani among others will be holding “sabhas” or public meetings across these constituencies.
CM Bhupendra Patel and state party president CR Patil will also be addressing a sabha.
