On way to school, 11-year-old dies as 3 siblings jump from railway bridge | India News – Times of India


JAMMU: An 11-year-old girl was killed and her two siblings were injured on the outskirts of Jammu city after they reportedly jumped from a railway bridge when they saw a train approaching.
Police said that the tragedy occured when the three siblings, namely Alia Fatima (6), Hadia Fatima (11) and their brother Mohiuddin (12), residents of Bajaltalocality in Jammu, were on their way to school. “All three children were seriously injured after they jumped from the bridge approximately 35-30 feet high on seeing a DMU coming from Jammu to Udhampur. They were taken to hospital where doctors declared Hadia brought dead,” police said.
Eyewitnesses stated that the children might have panicked and jumped off the bridge after noticing a train approaching them. While the condition of Alia was stated to be critical, Mohiuddin was said to be out of danger.
