Karnataka: Fire in autorickshaw in Mangaluru, 2 injured | Mangaluru News – Times of India


MANGALURU: Two persons including the driver of an autorickshaw sustained injuries after a fire was reported in a moving autorickshaw near Kankanady Town Police Station limits on Saturday.
City police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said the exact reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. The fire was noticed in an autorickshaw at around 5.15pm.
It is learnt that a bag that the passenger was carrying caught fire. The passenger and the driver sustained burn injuries and have been shifted to the hospital.
“The exact reason for the incident is yet to be ascertained. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been pressed into action and their reports is likely to throw light if it was a explosion or a fire accident, ” the commissioner said, requesting the public not to panic or pay heed to rumours.
